Home Care

Purpose of the Service

The Home Care Service was established to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis and their families. Its primary objective is to ensure dignified living conditions for individuals with significant mobility impairments while providing practical assistance with everyday activities in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.

Who Can Benefit

The service is primarily intended for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis who experience significant mobility limitations.

It also supports younger adults who may still be employed but lack sufficient family support—such as single parents or individuals living alone—or those facing challenges in adapting to daily life with the condition. Whenever possible, the program aims to help individuals maintain their employment and independence.

Services Provided

The Home Care Assistant provides support with:

  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Household cleaning and maintenance
  • Ironing and meal preparation
  • Collection of prescribed medication
  • Accompaniment to medical appointments
  • Assistance with essential daily errands, such as grocery shopping

These services contribute significantly to improving the quality of life of people living with Multiple Sclerosis while promoting a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment.

Assessment and Eligibility

Access to the service begins with contacting the Association. This is followed by a home visit from an authorized member of staff, who assesses the individual’s specific needs and determines the appropriate level of support.

The service is generally not provided to individuals who already have full-time live-in domestic assistance, unless additional support is considered necessary on a complementary basis.

Cost of the Service

The Home Care Service is offered at a low subsidized cost, ensuring that patients can benefit from specialized, personalized support that remains affordable and accessible.

Quality Assurance and Service Monitoring

The Association is committed to the continuous evaluation and improvement of the Home Care Service, in accordance with the recommendations of the relevant authorities, including the Social Welfare Services.

At the same time, the Association invests in the ongoing education and professional development of its staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and professional care.
